Jesus taught the Twelve for months. Then, well before they were ready, he sent them out two by two with real authority and almost no supplies (Mark 6:7–9).
They came back and reported what happened. He took them aside to rest and talk (Mark 6:30–31). Later he did the same with seventy-two others (Luke 10).
Teach, send, debrief, repeat. They made mistakes. They argued about who was the greatest. He kept sending them.
The idea. Information does not make leaders. Assignments do. A lesson with no assignment is forgotten in a week. The risk is the point. People grow when the result truly depends on them.
The action for this week. Take the next thing you plan to teach your team. Attach a real assignment with real consequences, due within a week. Put the debrief on the calendar before anyone starts.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”James 1:22, ESV
