Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026. Last updated October 11, 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Empower the Leader (“Empower the Leader,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information through empowertheleader.com and related pages and forms (the “Site”). Use of the Site is also governed by our Terms of Use.
1. Who We Are
Empower the Leader is a leadership development business founded by Dr. Jake Necessary and based in Aubrey, Texas. We offer the LEADS system, the Pride community, and the ROAR newsletter and podcast.
We are the controller of personal information collected through the Site. Our mailing address is Empower the Leader, 120 Stanley Dr., Suite #110, Aubrey, TX 76227. You can reach us by phone or text at (469) 246-4888, by fax at (972) 707-2111, by email at privacy@empowertheleader.com, or through the contact page.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy covers personal information gathered through the Site and related contact channels, including forms and email.
Information shared during a paid program, workshop, or organizational engagement, including team assessment responses, is governed by the agreement for that program or engagement.
3. Information We Collect
A. Information you provide. We collect what you choose to send us:
- Contact form: your first and last name, email address, organization, the topic you select, your message, and, if you choose to give one, your mobile phone number
- ROAR newsletter, the Pride waitlist, and the Foundations interest list: your first and last name, email address, and, if you choose to give one, your mobile phone number
- Text message consent: whether you checked the box agreeing to receive text messages, and when
Please do not submit passwords, confidential personnel matters, health information, or other sensitive data through the forms on this Site.
B. The LEADS Self-Check. Your answers and scores are stored only in your own browser. They are not sent to us or stored on our servers. Clearing your browser data or choosing Start over removes them.
C. Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting and security providers record standard technical information: IP address and approximate location, browser and device details, pages viewed and referring addresses, and the time of your visit. We also use Google Analytics, which collects similar information through cookies to show us, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site. Klaviyo, our email provider, records similar information and can connect page views with a subscriber’s email profile. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to download them.
D. Information from third parties. We do not currently obtain personal information about Site visitors from third parties.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Reply to inquiries and arrange conversations
- Send the ROAR newsletter you asked for
- Tell you when the Pride or Foundations opens
- Send text messages, only if you gave a mobile number and checked the box agreeing to receive them
- Evaluate and deliver the programs you ask about
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site, including detecting fraud and abuse
- Meet legal obligations and defend legal claims
We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects based on information collected through the Site.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only where there is an operational need:
- Hosting, security, and content delivery providers
- Analytics providers, currently Google Analytics
- Email and communication providers, currently Klaviyo, which stores subscriber details and delivers the ROAR newsletter and program announcements
- Professional advisors, such as attorneys and accountants
- Government authorities, when the law requires or to protect rights and safety
- A successor in a merger, sale, or reorganization
Providers may use the information only to perform services for us. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text message consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Text messages are optional. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to cancel, or HELP for help.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
6. Text Messaging
We do not collect mobile numbers through the Site, and we do not send marketing text messages.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Privacy Signals
The Site uses cookies and browser storage for essential functions and security, such as bot detection by our security provider and remembering your Self-Check answers, and for analytics and email marketing as described below.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, to understand in aggregate how visitors find and use the Site: which pages are read, how long visits last, and what kind of device and browser are used. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you view. We use this information to improve the Site. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, we have not turned on its advertising features, and we do not send Google your name, email address, or form entries. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google explains how it handles this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Klaviyo. We use Klaviyo to manage our email lists and send the ROAR newsletter and program announcements. Klaviyo’s script runs on the Site and sets cookies. For visitors who have subscribed or clicked a link in one of our emails, Klaviyo can connect pages viewed on the Site with that subscriber’s email profile, so we can send relevant messages. For other visitors the information is not tied to a name or email address. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising on other sites. You can stop this by unsubscribing, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by writing to privacy@empowertheleader.com.
You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.
We honor Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising. Because we do neither, the signal does not currently change how the Site works. The Site does not respond to other Do Not Track signals.
8. Your Choices
- Unsubscribe from ROAR at any time by using the link in any issue or by contacting us
- Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Control cookies through your browser settings
- Remove your Self-Check answers by choosing Start over
- Ask us to update or correct your information by writing to privacy@empowertheleader.com
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling, and to not be treated differently for using these rights.
Texas. Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. We do not sell personal or sensitive data, and we process sensitive data only with consent.
California. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the right to know the categories and sources of information collected and to opt out of sale or sharing. We have not sold or shared personal information in the past 12 months.
Other states. We honor similar rights as the law requires.
Requests. Send a request to privacy@empowertheleader.com, or through the contact page, with the words “Privacy Request” in your message. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days, and we may extend that period by up to 45 more days where the law allows. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted.
Appeals. If we decline a request, you may appeal by writing to privacy@empowertheleader.com with the words “Privacy Request Appeal.” We will respond within 60 days. If the appeal is not resolved, you may contact your state Attorney General. Texas residents may file a complaint at www.texasattorneygeneral.gov.
10. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted or de-identified within 24 months of the last communication, unless the law requires a longer period. Newsletter and waitlist details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
11. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and restricted access to the information you send. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify affected individuals and authorities of a security incident as the law requires.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for adult professionals and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.
13. Visitors Outside the United States
The Site is operated in and intended for the United States. Information from visitors in other countries is transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy protections may differ.
14. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to sites we do not run. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will post any revised version on this page with an updated date. Where the law requires, we will give additional notice or ask for consent before material changes take effect.
